Freedom From the perspective of Buddhism and Anarchism : Part I

A philosophical inquiry into inner and outer liberation

“A man sits cross-legged beneath a tree. His eyes are closed. Around him, empires rise and fall. Another man hurls a Molotov at a concrete wall. His eyes are open. Inside him, illusions crumble.”

One seeks to extinguish the “self”; the other, the “state”. This is the battle to dissolve authority through silence and fire.

At first glance, “Buddhism and anarchism” seem to walk different paths — the one inward and the other outward. Yet both are rebellions, They want to Scream out Something in Today’s modern life. Both reject domination, illusion, and servitude. Both long for “freedom” , not as a political slogan, but as an existential necessity.

In a world increasingly defined by systems of control in both internalized and institutional ways, with this Series I’m going to answer a question that has been irritating human mind for a long time:

“What is freedom?”
